  • GROWING

We grow heirloom corn, wheat, rye, buckwheat, & oats. We are passionate about growing Certified Organic grain without resorting to spraying any harmful herbicides. We believe there is a direct correlation with issues of gut health and how commodity wheat is grown and processed. Want us to grow a certain grain variety, reach out to us! We are constantly learning & are dedicated to revitalizing grain for people.

  • MILLING

The farm is Certified Organic, but the mill is not certified yet. Therefore, we cannot sell our milled products as Certifed Organic…but we’re working on changing that, so stay tuned. Currently, we freshly cold, stone mill all of our grain.

Check out our Journal page for more information about the benefits of stoneground grain!

In 2013, Lindsey attended the Asheville Bread Festival where she first learned to dress mill stones with Roger & Tass Jansen. It was a memorable experience that encouraged a deep passion within the world of bread. She now helps organize that festival. After retrofitting a bicycle powered mill in2016, she traveled in Italy, working with bakers & farmers, learning about their regional grain systems.

In 2019, Lindsey began milling as an apprentice with David Bauer. He became a boss, a mentor, & a friend. In 2020, she also began milling with Jennifer Lapidus, boss, mentor, & friend. These pillars in the grain community have allowed our farm and mill offerings to flourish. We appreciate our network of friends in the grain community & encourage you to support LOCAL.
